Thoughts on CalArts Portfolio Day (circa late 2010s)

no "research" in this one. just personal thoughts and feelings.

To CLARIFY:
CalArts has two animation departments. Character and Experimental. Historically Char. is more of a pipeline to tradition studio work, while Exp. students might be interested in studio work, independent animation, fine art or other things. But obviously there can be outliers in both department. I was in Exp. Both departments could participate in Portfolio Day.
